Year 6 Samba Beat

A few boys of year six playing a samba drum beat in a parade. Featuring Stelios ,Foluso, Dylan and Charlie. Representing This weeks Carnival Themed Arts Week.

Arts Week at Glade!

This week as most of you know was Art Week and we did all different types of art. Our first was performing arts which took place when we were practicing our play and getting absolutely perfect-or when our teachers were satisfied. We spent about two or three days doing that before switching to some real artistic art. We began designing and making masks used for masquerade balls which we will hopefully finish...some time or another. We are also very exciting because on Sunday, 27 year 6 pupils will be off to West Runton, formally known as Kingswood Residential. The other 30 or so will be travelling off to Lambourne End and Aquasplash where we hope to have as much fun as the others...or possibly more. On Tuesday we also had the schools music concert where Christopher Elliot (Trombone),Aye-Marie Conteh(Violin) and Cathryn Bowyer (Clarinet) performed to many parents and pupils as well. We will hopefully catch you next week where we will give you the ultimate lowdown on everything that's happen then. More to follow!
Catch you later! =)

Charities

Year 6 did many things this week, one of which was R.E. In R.E we were focusing on chariy ties and helping people. We discussed many charities including Tearfund, Amnesty International, Oxfam and many more. We then had a go at making our very own charity in groups. They turned out great and we had a variety of charities including LifeRights created by Aye-Marie and Rayne, Helping Hands by Cathryn and Chloe and Child Benifit by Cori and Alyesha. We have a special powerpoint to show you that promotes one of our charities. Please click on the link.

This was just one of our creations that we made. As you can see we worked very hard. Look out for next week's special.......ART WEEK!!!More to follow...
