Red Nose Day

Happy Red Nose Day!

Our week was full of treats and surprises especially today so lets start from the beginning...

On Monday, we travelled down to Hargreaves Scout Camp for Citizenship Day. We learnt a great deal of info and techniques to use in real life and to practice. We all received certificates at the end of the day for our participation but our overall winners were Cori , Amy, Louie, Bilal, Arec and three other Gilbert Colvin pupils who were rewarded medals by a famous actor from TV series 'The Bill'! More will follow next week.
To top this off, today we had a fun end to the week.

We started off with our well-practised red nose day dance 9.00 am and it was great to see the parents eagerly joining in! Then Keystage 2 were treated to Caterham pupils performing some comedy sketches.
We raised a lot of money for Comic Relief and we even had four of out Year 6 Pupils, Aye-Marie Conteh, Alyesha Moodley, Rhea Ahmed and Drenica Tahiri organise a sponsored silence which lasted for an hour. Here are some of their responses:

Aye-Marie Conteh
says:

It was extremely hard
especially at playtime with all our friends
tempting us but we managed to do
it and it was for a good cause. I was really happy when we raised eighteen
pounds for the sponsored silence and I hope it will help Comic Relief!

Rhea Ahmed says:

it was fun and i am very proud
to raise this much money for comic relief! It was hard but worth it for
charity!!! Every one who done it almost spoke but we done it and enjoyed
it!

Drenica Tahiri says:

It was a hard experience!! But
then again it was for charity, we hope that it did make a difference. the
silence was for 1 hour exactly and it was really hard during playtime as
everyone was being LOUD it is all going to charity and we hope you all had
a good RED NOSE DAY!!!
